    How does a wetsuit work?

    Wetsuits

Whether you’re into kitesurfing, waterskiing, swimming or surfing, a wetsuit is an essential piece of gear for colder water conditions. Wetsuits offer better insulation than standard swimsuits or boardshorts, making them a preferred option for extended water activities. They are available for men, women, and kids, making them suitable for the whole family.

Wetsuits are typically made of neoprene and come in various thicknesses to suit different water and activity conditions. Neoprene is not waterproof, but it has small holes (cells) that allow water to enter. The thin layer of water that gets trapped between the neoprene and your skin acts as an additional layer of insulation, keeping you warm. Thicker neoprene has more heat-trapping cells, providing better insulation. Consider the thickness of the neoprene based on your activity and the time of year.
