Your Mystic kite harnesses is an essential part of your kiting gear. Having the best back support possible is of utmost importance to keep things safe and have you performing at your best.
Waist & Seat Harnesses
So what kind of harness do you need? This depends on a number of different factors. The first factor to consider is whether to go with a waist harness and a seat harness. The great thing about a waist harness is the freedom of movement that you’ll get. This is perfect for freestyling, free riding, big airs and wave riding. A seat harness makes it easier to take off and keeping you stable due to the lower tow point that it offers. You’ll generally see seat harnesses at kitesurfing‘s schools and beginners using them, but they can also be a great option for your seasoned surfer, opening up a whole new world and approach to the discipline of your choice.
Hardshell & Softshell Harnesses
Mystic harnesses offer all kinds of back support for you, the kitesurfer. This support comes from either a hardshell and softshell back plates, with each having their own pros and cons.

Hardshell harnesses come in a variety of different shapes and sizes. For example, a taller anatomical backplate gives you more support. These harnesses generally have a soft neoprene inside which will fit nice and snug around your waist.
The Majestic harness is a hardshell harness. This kitesurfing harness has the same Bionic Core Frame as the Majestic X, but with a Roving fibreglass plate, apposed a the carbon fibre plate, which provides bigger freedom of movement. This kite harness is built around the patented Bionic Core Frame (BCF), which is a semi-rigid back support plate. Its unique composite material is very stiff, yet it still allows for more flexibility than most conventional hard-shells harnesses.

Characteristics of a Kite Harness: Stiffness, Flex, and Grip
Learn about the three key characteristics of a kite harness: stiffness, flex, and grip. Mystic’s patented bionic core frame ensures stiffness in one direction while maintaining flex in the opposite direction for maximum performance.
Stiffness– The stiffness of a kiteboarding harness is determined by the type of back plate used. Mystic’s patented bionic core frame (BCF) is made of unique composite materials that allow for differences in stiffness. By laying the fibers in a specific lay-out, the BCF creates stiffness in one direction while maintaining flex in the opposite direction, providing maximum support and performance.
Flex– In kiteboarding, freedom of movement is crucial. Whether you’re making big air or insane freestyle moves, you need a harness that allows you to move around easily. Mystic takes harness flex into account, ensuring that you have the freedom of movement you need to perform at your best.
Grip– A waist harness needs to have grip to ensure it stays snug around your waist. This provides support and reduces the risk of rash. Even if you’re riding bare chest or in a wetsuit, you don’t want the harness moving around too much. Mystic harnesses are designed with grip in mind, so you can focus on your riding without worrying about your harness.
