In this spirit, the ROCKET FREE SURF builds on everything that made the ROCKET SURF PRONE a success: an elongated outline that facilitates take-offs, optimized volume distribution, and a carefully tuned rake angle that creates perfect front-to-back foot pressure. Combined with reduced thickness, this provides excellent in-flight control.

  • Light Bamboo Deck:  Using a layer of bamboo only on the deck, this construction has been optimized to guarantee the board is as light as possible, all while ensuring strength and durability as well.
  • BEVELED RAILS. Beveled rails on foil boards reduce the width of the hull compared to the deck. This reduces the friction when the board touches the water and helps with touchdowns.
  • TWIN-TRACKS. The twin-tracks system with a lateral spacing of 90mm is one of the standards in the industry.

The straight rocker line ensures smooth acceleration, while the beveled rails reduce drag on touchdowns and enable more aggressive, committed turns. A slightly flatter nose improves both control and pumping efficiency, while the tapered nose and tail enhance maneuverability and help avoid unwanted contact with the water during carves.
The rear step and kicktail free up water flow and boost pumping amplitude. Finally, the deck has been widened and reshaped slightly to improve foot placement and overall stability.
Compared to the FREE DOWNWIND, the FREE SURF is a nimbler board thanks to its tapered nose and bottom outline, reduced thickness, and balanced foot pressure. This combination offers excellent pitch stability, even during the most powerful turns.
Built with our Bamboo Deck Construction, the board stays light and responsive, while maintaining durability and strength. The feeling of the foil is very direct, and control is absolute throughout the entire session, even at high speeds.
